Ingredients:
2 cups of fresh basil
1 cup of italian parsley
1/2 cup parmesan cheese or 1/2 cup romano cheese, grated
1/2 cup pine nuts, toasted
4 cloves garlic, roughly chopped
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/2 cup olive oil
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons water
Directions:
1.Combine all ingredients in a food processor or blender.
2.Puree until the mixture forms a smooth, thick paste.
3.Topping ideas for pesto pizza: Sliced crimini mushrooms.
4.Reconstituted sun-dried tomatoes.
5.Sliced black olives.
6.Shaved Parmesan cheese.
